It's been a long time since we've updated you all aside from our small Facebook updates, but you can rest peacefully knowing that we have been hard at work on the game itself with some juicy side quests, beautiful voice acting, and rigorous alpha testing!
Let's get the side quest portion out of the way. We have reached our first goal of having 50 side quests in the game, with at least one in every town! We now have our sights set on 100 and we hope to meet that goal with some unique content in mind, filling out the rest of Hajimari's mountain ranges and outposts. We are confident that the majority of the quests will be ones you've never seen before and are definitely excited to have you all venture out into Hajimari to meet some of its strange and kooky inhabitants. It's a bold claim, but it is one we can stand firm by. Our vision for this project was to make it more unique than other traditional RPGs and there are loads of things separating us from the pack, so we hope you will enjoy what we have to offer!
As far as voice acting goes, we now have our entire cast! You can check out all of their names on the "Creators" page near the bottom. Working with all of them has been a great time and a good learning experience. We are getting ever closer to having all of the dialogue recorded. As soon as it is recorded, Carter will get it all edited and put into the game! We have some great performances from all of our actors, but if listening to voice acting in an RPG isn't your bag of crisps, you can always turn them off in the options menu for a more classic gaming experience.
We've also done our first phase of alpha testing, which was very succesful! We only had one game breaking glitch and have managed to fix all of the bugs that were causing issues. There will likely be other things that crop up as we search a bit more but right now everything is just peachy! Our first testing consisted of the main story stripped of all enemies and extra content so we could focus on the ability of the player to complete the game beginning to end no matter what characters they have in their party or what order they tackle the dungeons in. We'll have some more updates on our next testing branch soon, so stay tuned!
We've also been working on some very nice looking paintings and pixel art that we can't wait for you to see in the final game. It's all looking top notch! Unforuntately we can't show much of it to you right now, but there have been some small teasers on our Facebook page if you want to go see those.
Thanks for staying patient with us everyone! This is a huge undertaking for our team and we are so happy to have all of our supporters behind us. We love you all and are so grateful.
Until next time,
The God's Disdain Dev Team
