We have made a lot of progress since we last updated you. New story elements, more dungeoneering, a new team member, and new systems are all things we'll be discussing in this blog post!
First of all, let's take a moment to welcome team member Bree Ward to our roster of talented individuals. She will be replacing Jon as PR Coordinator and runs our Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr pages, and will have more of an advertising purpose later down the road when we get the game more developed! So message her on any of our platforms and say hi :)
As far as story goes, we have been working steadfastly on creating new and interesting side quests for you to enjoy. We are trying our very hardest to not just have the boring "fetch quests" that you see in many RPGs. Each character in our world has a story and it helps a lot to bring cool ideas for missions that you'll be able to go on. We have an entire side-story where you assassinate people! We look forward to bringing you more about those quests in the future, but for now we also have been adding a bit more intricacy into the main story. We realized our main villain was a bit bland and didn't make too many appearances in the game, so we are trying now to give him more of a personality and a centralized plot significance. We hope you enjoy everything that character has to offer!
We've also been working on more dungeons, which you can thank CJ Stanley, our dungeon and puzzle expert, for. We released the "Volcano Demo" video (which featured the entirety of the Volcano dungeon) to everyone on our Discord server (that you can gain access to by donating) and they have all seemed to enjoy it and our entire team is excited to get the ball rolling even more than it already is! We are currently working out how to get the catacombs dungeon, which features moving walls and tricky switches, laid out in a manner that isn't completely confusing! It should be a very fun and interesting dungeon to go through.
We have decided to get rid of your party following behind you and instead are keeping the party invisible except for the main character, Tamiko. Why, you may ask? We are working on an enemy AI system similar to Super Mario RPG, where the enemies will spawn randomly on the map, have different movement patterns, and battle you when you come in contact with them. Some may even act as "guards" that will give chase if you get too close! The reason for not trailing the other party members behind you is because they aren't effected by enemies or environment traps whatsoever, so it looks a little weird to have three characters following you that don't interact with anything. Our plan is to only have random encounters on the overworld, to give you guys a bit more options on whether you want to attack or not, and where you want to move about in a dungeon.
Thanks for reading! As always, we are incredibly excited to share more and more info with you and can't wait for you guys to see more! If you'd like to constantly see what we're working on and get some behind the scenes action, remember you can always donate to get access to our Discord server! Details for that are on the main page of our website, www.godsdisdain.com.
Thank you for your continued support!
